For us, the decision to design mobile-first versus desktop-first depends on many factors. We realize that a large portion of traffic comes from mobile devices (in knm it's about 70%), but we know that something else matters, namely which devices users are using, when making conversion decisions. This is as important a factor for us as the one mentioned earlier. When considering this, we take into account business profiles - (B2C/B2B), potential traffic sources and the ideal customer.

Mobile-first design: a non-standard decision
Despite the fact that indeed many people use their phones for browsing, mobile-first design is still not an everyday occurrence for us. Our experience shows that computers are nevertheless responsible for a large portion of conversions, and there is another key difference - designing more sophisticated animations and effects is simpler on the big screen, and scaling “down” turns out to be simpler than scaling “up” in most cases.
Desktop-first: a proven solution
The most important details when it comes to desktop-first design are, of course, the aforementioned facilitated scaling and attention to responsiveness, as well as the type of devices responsible for conversion. However, these are not the only aspects. We have also noticed that a large number of our partners, prefer to check desktop designs, making such a solution obvious when you value not only the comfort and quality of your own work, but want to make it easier for your customers to work and decide.
Summary
Mobile-first vs Desktop-first is a classic topic of discussion in the industry. From our perspective, this is a strongly individual issue, we believe that we should prioritize the end result, and customer satisfaction. This is what I advise everyone to do!
